Formula
Mifflin-St Jeor BMR from weight, height, age, and sex, then × activity factor for TDEE.
Estimate daily calories (BMR & TDEE) for maintenance planning using age, sex, height, weight, and activity.

Sedentary 1.2 · Light 1.375 · Moderate 1.55 · Very active 1.725 · Extra active 1.9.
Estimates only. Illness, hormones, medications, and body composition change needs. Not medical advice.
BMR (basal metabolic rate) is calories burned at complete rest. TDEE multiplies BMR by an activity factor to estimate total daily energy expenditure.
Mifflin-St Jeor: men BMR = 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age + 5; women BMR = 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age − 161. TDEE = BMR × activity multiplier.
A common planning approach is a modest deficit or surplus around TDEE (for example ±300–500 kcal), but needs vary. Ask a clinician or dietitian for personalised targets.
